Set theory is no longer taught in the secondary school mathematics curriculum

I've now been told this by two mathematics teachers, one of whom taught me mathematics many many years ago. Despite that, he's by no means an old fogey, and he seemed really concerned about it. Last weekend I visited an old schoolfriend whose wife is a mathematics teacher and she confirmed this dreadful state of affairs. You don't need set theory to do sums, but it does provide the language you need to talk about the higher mathematics.
