Copyright

I think the current laws are broken - often and fundamentally. I don't know what should be the new accommodation between the public interest and the producers of works, but I know that the old accommodation is now flawed. While the public flouts the laws, rights owners seek to extend their reach. I remember being taught that IP rights (copyright and patents) exist to benefit the public interest; we seem to have lost sight of that.

For the times, they are a-changing.
