Interesting post by Jason Calacanis about why starting is important. Although he is talking about starting a business, the same thing is true in starting a complex system design. The fastest way to produce a good design is to produce a bad one first; if you spend too much time planning, you'll just produce a bad one slowly and not enough enough time to fix it.
