Visual Complexity

I'm fascinated by the way in which a good graphic can represent very complex information in a way that can be comparatively easily assimilated. The classic example of which is Minard's "Losses of the French Army in the Russian Campaign" which shows what its title suggests.

Jumping forward nearly two centuries, I've just come across VisualComplexity.com (courtesy of Y Combinator's news feed) which is a directory for many new visualisation. Within a few clicks I saw many interesting sights (sites?) . Thoroughly recommended.
