Quebec gets cold feet about e-voting

It never rains but it pours.... Just after posting about the risks of e-voting I came across "Quebec puts the brakes on electronics voting" on Engadget. The press release referenced, Evaluation Report of New Methods of Voting - The Chief Electoral Officer Makes a Disturbing Diagnosis of the Problems that Occurred ..., makes interesting reading. It is very encouraging to see officials make a serious examination of the e-voting process. I think one sentence gives a good flavour: “The major problems that were encountered during polling and the release of results have eroded the confidence of many persons regarding the new methods of voting”.
